The university–industry collaboration strengthening meeting was held under the chairmanship of Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar

At the UPYK meeting held under the auspices of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, decisions were made regarding the dissemination of the 3+1 on-the-job training model, strengthening university–industry collaboration, and increasing employment opportunities for students within the scope of the YÖK–TOBB MYO Education Collaboration.

The meeting held at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) under the auspices of the YÖK–TOBB Vocational Schools Education Collaboration was conducted by the University Protocol Executive Board (ÜPYK). Important evaluations were made regarding the dissemination of the 3+1 on-the-job training model and strengthening university–industry integration during the meeting.

The main agenda of the meeting held in the MAKÜ Board of Directors Meeting Room was the broader dissemination of the 3+1 on-the-job vocational training application in the center and districts of Burdur. In this context, topics such as matching registered companies with university programs, determining internship and practical training needs, and opening new programs focused on technology and employment were discussed. Additionally, discussions were held on increasing part-time work opportunities for students and making the scholarship processes provided within the framework of the protocol more systematic.

In his statement at the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar said: “I would like to thank the valuable presidents and officials of our Burdur and Bucak Chambers of Commerce and Industry and our Stock Exchange for their sincere and solution-oriented approaches in this collaboration. We want our young people to get to know the business world while they are in school, learn by experiencing, and have an easier job search process after graduation. We are also taking steps to increase part-time work opportunities for our students and to make scholarship processes clearer and faster. We will continue to work to transform university–industry collaboration into a permanent structure, so that the labor of our youth, the production of Burdur, and the future are stronger.”

During the meeting, where periodic reports prepared by the PYK were also evaluated, it was aimed that the decisions taken would strengthen university–industry collaboration and increase the employability of students after graduation.

It is expected that the studies carried out within the framework of the YÖK–TOBB collaboration will play an important role in training qualified human resources that will contribute to regional development.

In the meeting chaired by MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar as the President of the UPYK, Rector Assistant Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Burdur Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Yusuf Keyik, Bucak Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Hasan Yalçın Meçikoğlu, Burdur Commodity Exchange President Ömer Faruk Gündüzalp, as well as members of the Protocol Executive Board (PYK), chamber representatives, vocational school directors, and coordinators were present.
